Meeting the Spiritual and Practical Needs of the PoorCelebrating 19 Years of Service at the Ark City of Refuge It has been 19 years since we opened our doors in Westlake to hurting, homeless and needy women, children and men striving to meet both their spiritual and practical needs through Christ’s love and the preaching of the Gospel. Nothing has changed- the many thousands that we have helped are but a fraction of the poor and needy. We CELEBRATE every life changed, every child saved from starvation. Our people that we serve are the reason for our existence. We love them! In 1999 we moved to the Faure/Mfuleni area where we are, with God’s help, still restoring hope, dignity and lives to almost 800 people daily who are in our residential care. Each year more women, children and men come to us for help. Today, the Ark City of Refuge offers Bible-based substance abuse recovery programmes, spiritual and practical restoration, education at our Educare centre and school and so much more. In the 19 years of Ministry, it has helped thousands of people. Many today are in ministry, business, or leadership and graduates from tertiary institutions and elsewhere as a result of the intervention offered by our Ministry. None of this would have been possible without firstly God’s help and the MANY, MANY FRIENDS OF THE ARK who have so graciously and generously been the hands and feet of Jesus throughout the 19 years.
